2016 Summer Camps

Dates and location may be subject to change prior to registration beginning. Camp registration begins May 2 with deadlines being one week prior to each camp start. Space is limited and camp information is subject to change.

 

TRAIL TOTS

Ages: 3-5

Session 1: June 6-10

Preschoolers will participate in fun-filled, age appropriate, nature themed activities during this weeklong camp. Arts and crafts, outdoor games, music, dancing and story-time activities will be included. Children must be potty trained to attend camp. This is a drop-off program. Click here to register.

 

HALL OF FAME BASEBALL

Ages: 7-12 June 13-15 (rain date June 16)

Registration Fee: $40

Baseball skills camp for players of all skill levels. Campers should bring a glove, bat, batting helmet and water bottle. Helmets and bats will be available if needed.  Click here to register.

 

TOT TENNIS

Ages: 5-7 (with adult)

Wittenberg University Tennis Camps

Registration Deadline: Monday Before

Registration Fee: $30

Tot Tennis will provide a basic introduction to tennis with an emphasis on fun with games and drills. The tennis instructor will be the Wittenberg Tennis Coach Nick Rohner. Participants should bring a tennis racquet if they have one and water bottle.  Click here to register.

Wittenberg University Tennis Courts

Registration Deadline: Monday Before

Start from scratch or improve on what you already know in this fun instructional camp. While developing a love for the game, athletes will learn the rules and etiquette that help make tennis a lifelong game. The instructor will be the Wittenberg University Tennis Coach Nick Rohner and will teach all the fundamental skills necessary to play singles or doubles. CAMP GET UP AND GO

Registration Fee: $60

Camp Get Up and Go will offer fun physical fitness activities, recreational sports, games and nutrition education. Campers will also be treated to guest speakers, field trip and more. YOUTH GOLF CAMP

Ages: 10-12

Registration Fee: $40

Start from scratch or improve on what you already know. Golf Camp will work on all the fundamental golfing skills, including playing rules and etiquette. Golfers should bring their own equipment if possible.  Click here to register.

 

NATURE EXPLORERS CAMP

Ages: 7-12 June 27- July1

Friday at Springfield Museum of Art

Registration Fee: $75

Campers will learn about the great outdoors through hands on experiences with nature and art. Youth will learn about plants and animals through guided exploration, artistic observation and projects. Campers must bring a packed lunch and water bottle each day. Come prepared to get dirty. This camp is in collaboration with the Springfield Museum of Art. A reception will be held at the Museum on Friday from 3:30-4pm.  Click here to register.

 


VOLLEYBALL CAMP

Ages: 9-13

This instructional camp will allow participants to develop the skills needed to advance themselves in the sport of volleyball. This will be a great camp experience for the beginner or experienced player. The instructor is Angie Arthur. Camp will offer a fun, high- energy atmosphere for learning and competing. YOUTH BASKETBALL CAMP

This camp will provide comprehensive instruction into all phases of the game of basketball in a fun format. Campers will learn the basic fundamentals and improve their basketball game. Come discover the fun of becoming a Jr. Scientist. Camp will focus on learning through fun experiments; science themed crafts and most importantly provide kids with a fun, hands-on experience to explore the fascinating world of science.  Click here to register.

 

SOCCER CAMP

Eagle City Soccer Complex

Dribbling, passing and scoring goals will be covered in this fun, fast paced camp. The camp is designed to provide challenges for the strong player as well as the beginner. The instructor will be Mike Sherrock, Kenton Ridge High School Varsity Soccer Coach. Campers must wear shin guards and bring a water bottle each day.  Click here to register.

CHEERLEADING CAMP

Ages: 6-12 July 18-21

The sport of cheerleading is fun and challenging. Learn cheerleading techniques including chants, cheers, jumps along with dance moves and more. The instructor will be Valerie Block. BEGINNERS PERFORMING ARTS CAMP

Discover your talents and learn new skills at this exciting and unique camp. Local non-profit groups will collaborate to lead and instruct campers on song and dance, audition prep, an introduction to musical instruments and more. A highlight of the camp will be a performance by the campers on Friday, August 5, at 4:00pm at Veterans Park Amphitheater for the parents and community. Campers must bring a lunch and water bottle each day. Tennis shoes required. This camp is done in partnership with the Springfield Civic Theatre, Ohio Performing Arts Institute, Clark State, Springfield Museum of Art, Springfield Arts Council, Springfield Symphony Orchestra and the Heritage Center.  Click here to register.

 

HEALTH NUTS MINI CAMPS

Buck Creek Nature Park

Health Nuts combines health and environmental education through fun outdoor activities and healthy eating topics. Participants will learn to appreciate nature, be more physically active and eat healthier with hands on activities and games while exploring Buck Creek Nature Park. Each mini camp will have a different theme and activities. Health Nuts is in collaboration between NTPRD and the Ohio State University Extension, Clark County-Family & Consumer Sciences. This camp is funded by a grant from the Community Health Foundation.  Click here to register.
