Mitchell Meadows

Wish there was a place for the young (and the young at heart) to escape the busyness of school and the allure of electronic distractions? Looking for somewhere your kids can connect with the outdoors, learn about the world around us, and even get a little dirty all in a safe, stimulating environment? Look no further than Mitchell Meadows!

Located behind Carleton Davidson Stadium, this unique park provides an interactive educational experience for visitors including native plant plots, an outdoor amphitheater, a wildflower walking trail and a picnic area.

The natural playground is a learning landscape that allows children to actively engage with nature through imaginative play, recreational activities and outdoor exploration. Rather than pre-manufactured play equipment, natural playgrounds like this focus on creating settings which encourage children to use their imaginations while simultaneously experiencing the smells, textures and wonders of the natural world.
