HUNGER DRIVE GAMES

The District of National Trail Parks & Recreation is calling all tributes to volunteer for the 1st Annual Hunger Drive Games, a battle for last man standing. The games, in partnership with the Second Harvest Food Bank, offers a great family friendly event. Tributes will be placed in appropriate age groups to battle in an arena set up at Snyder Park. Tributes will receive a long sleeve game shirt and drawstring bag with paid registration. Prizes will be awarded to all winners. Compete in the Hunger Drive Games and Help Fight Hunger!

Games Held: Saturday, November 22
Registration Deadline: Friday, November 14
Location: Snyder Park
Ages: 6 - Adult (participants will be placed in appropriate ages)
Registration Fee: $40 with no donation or $25 with donation of 10 non-perishable PROTEIN food items (peanut butter, canned meat, canned fish, beef stew, etc.)

FITNESS BOOTCAMP

Ages: 18 & Older

Session 1: Saturdays, December 6 – 27

Session 2: Saturdays, January 10 – 31*

Registration Fee: $6 per class, or $20 per session

Join an Anytime Fitness instructor for a 30-minute Bootcamp workout! Bootcamp is a combination of strength, cardio, muscle endurance, flexibility, core, and functional movement patterns. Participants keep moving and burning fat from the first minute to the very end! There will also be a free 30-minute health seminar immediately following class on the first Saturday of every month. Participants must register by the Friday before the class they wish to attend. No drop-in registrations will be accepted due to limited class space. Register for individual classes for $6 or a 4-class session for $20. *Class on January 24 will be held at Anytime Fitness.

 

TRAIIL WALKERS

Ages: 18 & Older

The Trail Walkers is a walking program which highlights the multi-purpose trail system while promoting fitness, fellowship and fun. These guided, self-paced walks begin at 10:00 a m on Tuesdays. Health screenings are offered the first Tuesday each month and are provided by the Clark County Combined Health District. Trail Walker is sponsored by Richards, Raff and Dunbar Memorial Home and Trostel, Chapman, Dunbar & Fraley Funeral Home.

Join us for a walk along one of the many hiking trails. The first and third Wednesdays of each month hikes will take place at the Rebert Pike Nature Park and the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month will take place at New Reid Park. These guided, self paced hikes will allow you to explore and enjoy our local natural environment. These trails are all natural so be sure to wear your hiking boots. Please note a guided hike will not take place on December 24, 31 or February 4.

Start the year out trying something new. Join your friends at Snyder Park Clubhouse for a painting class with Tracey Tackett from Sip & Dipity Paint Bar. Everything you need to create a beautiful piece of artwork will be provided. You will also enjoy a complimentary champagne lunch.

Join Mike Groeber, owner of Bicycle Revival, for this two-hour bike clinic. Participants will learn regular maintenance for their bikes as well as how to make repairs. Bring your own bike, or use one of the bikes provided.

Zumba Gold is a drop-in dance fitness class that feels friendly and most of all fun. It takes the Zumba formula and modifies the moves for a lower impact workout that is appropriate for any age as well as beginners. Space in class is limited.
