Truck Fest

Truck Fest allows “Kids” of all ages to climb in the cabs, honk the horns and check out many different sizes and styles of trucks, cars and service vehicles as well as meet the people who operate them. Saturday in the Park – Bike and Skateboard Expo

Skateboarding demonstrations by local 4-H club, Skate Chaos, will be one of the highlights of this exciting program. A safety clinic will be given along with vendors and more. Passport to Fishing

Passport to Fishing is a beginner fishing program for children and their families. Participants will learn fishing skills while having fun and enjoying the great outdoors. Meet at the shelter house next to Wiggley Field. Pre-registration is required and space is limited for this National Trail program.
Old Fashioned Country Fireworks

Celebrate our country’s independence at the 19th Annual Old Fashioned Country Fireworks. In addition to the fireworks, a country music concert will begin at 7:00 pm and is sponsored by WHIO- K99.1 FM. The gates for this alcohol free event will open at 6:00 p.m. and the fireworks will begin at dark (approximately 10:00 p.m.). Please enter the Clark County Fairgrounds using Gate A-1 on Route 41. This event is free to everyone and organized by the National Trail Parks and Recreation District. This event would not be possible without the generous support of area businesses and community members. The rain date for this event will be July 6.
Nate Miller’s All-Star Showcase

Join Nate Miller and many of his professional basketball friends and teammates as he brings together his outstanding basketball skills and his love of the Springfield Community for a fun filled night of basketball entertainment. The night will be filled with special guest, raffles, photo opportunities, giveaways, 3-point battles and fan/player interaction before, during and after the All-Star Game. The night is all about fun and giving back as Nate will be giving a portion of the proceeds back to the community where he got his start. Celebrate Parks and Recreation Month with President Theodore Roosevelt, portrayed by re-enactor Larry Marple. Watch as President Roosevelt tells about his conservation and preservation of park lands. Participants will also have the opportunity to tour historical Snyder Park and learn all it has to offer. The event is free pre-registration is required and fun for the entire family. Butterfly Walk

National Trail Bike Challenge Rides

Participate in the 2013 National Bike Challenge and attend this bike ride. The challenge is an exciting health and wellness initiative that encourages people to bike for transportation and recreation. This will be a recreational leisurely ride and appropriate for single riders or families. Bike helmets are required to participate. Pre-registration is recommended by calling 328-PARK for this National Trail ride.
Star Gaze

Learn about the night sky while watching for the Perseid Meteor Showers during this educational program. Bring a chair or blanket and binoculars.
