Summer Letterbox Adventure

Be part of this fun and educational adventure. Learn more about our local parks and history of Clark County. Pick up a Summer Letterbox booklet, beginning June 9, and find clues that will help you to find the letterboxes hidden at local destinations. Return the completed booklets to NTPRD and be eligible for prizes. Booklets will be available at  National Trail Parks and Recreation District, The Clark County Park District, The Heritage Center and the Clark County Public Libraries.

 

Prairie 101 Walk

Learn about native prairies and how valuable they are to our environment as we walk along the Buck Creek Trail. Find out  plans for re-establishment of prairies in NTPRD parks on this one-hour long walk.

Celebrate outdoor play with nature educational activity stations and more. The program “Hunters of the Sky” will be presented at 10:00 am where you can learn about and see falcons, hawks and owls. Look for macro invertebrate in Buck Creek. All activities are free and a great family event.

 

Star Gaze

Free

Learn about the night sky while watching for the Perseid Meteor Showers during this educational program. Bring a chair or blanket and binoculars. Participants should meet at the shelter house at Eagle City Soccer Complex.

CINCINNATI REDS BUS TRIP

Join NTPRD for a night at the ballpark!  Enjoy watching the Reds take on the New York Mets as well as a post-game fireworks show.  The price for this trip includes a game ticket, transportation and snacks on the bus. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Movies Begin At Dark

Veterans Park Amphitheatre

Grab a blanket, a lawn chair, family, friends, neighbors or co-workers, and head to Veterans Park Amphitheatre to enjoy FREE outdoor movies. Movies begin at dark (around 9pm) and are shown under the stars on a huge, inflatable screen with a state-of-the-art projection and sound system. Movies are free and family-friendly. The rain date for the events will be October 4. This event is presented by Hometown   Urgent Care & Occupational Health.

Talkin’ Baseball

“Talkin Baseball”, the Hot Stove Baseball discussion    program, will begin its 5th year on Wednesday, November 5. The season’s first session will include a  review of the 2014 baseball season. The monthly trivia contest will be held, snacks will be served and attendees are encouraged to bring a baseball book or video for free exchange. This program is presented by the Springfield / Clark County Baseball Hall of Fame.

 

Owl Prowl
