PRAIRIE PROGRAM

The program “Establishment of a Prairie and Wildflower
Seeding on a Small Scale” will demonstrate the importance of
these native plants and how to grow them at this educational
program presented by Terry Fredrich, owner of Habitat
Creations of Ohio. Please call 328-7275 to pre-register.

BIRDING 101
Ages: 16 and Older

Always wanted to learn more about birds? A beginning
bird education class will be held on Wednesday evenings
beginning March 19.This six-week class will be instructed
by Doug Overacker, President of the Clark County
Audubon Society. The classes will begin with an overview
of the families of birds that occur in Ohio. The following
weeks will go into more detail for each family of birds.
Class size is limited and pre-registration is required.

SPRING WILDFLOWER WALK
Ages: 12 and Older

Hike the beautiful trails while looking for spring blooming
wildflowers. Leading the walk will be Pam Bennett,
Horticulture Educator and State Master Gardener
Coordinator from the Ohio State University Extension. The
walk will begin at the Demint Shelter at George Rogers
Clark Park. Pre-registration for the walk is required by
calling 328-PARK. This walk is a joint effort between the
National Trail Parks and Recreation District and the Clark
County Park District.

 

HANGING BASKET WORKSHOP

Registration Fee: $20
During this annual program, participants will receive
instruction and supplies to create a hanging basket or container
planting to take home and display. Class size is limited to 10
participants in each class.

 

BIRD WALK

FREE
Ducks and water birds will be featured on this spring walk
led by Doug Overacker, President of the Clark County
Audubon Society. Participants should meet at the
Pumphouse Road Bridge at Old Reid Park.

 

RAIN GARDEN PROGRAM

Learn everything you need to know about rain gardens
during this educational program. Learn how to build and
install a rain garden along with the correct plants to select.
One program attendee will win a rain garden design and
installation courtesy of Habitat Creations. The
program is free but pre-registration is required

EARTH DAY HIKE

Rebert Pike Nature Park

Celebrate Earth Week on this spring nature hike. Become more
aware of your environment and recycling as we explore this
beautiful nature park. Participants will also find out what plant
and animals call this park home. Adults must accompany
children ages 15 and under. Pre-registration is recommended
by calling 328-PARK

Old Reid Park

Look for warblers, migrating and other birds that live in this
area on this morning walk at Old Reid Park. All skill levels are
welcome. Participants should meet at the Pumphouse Rd.
Bridge at Old Reid Park. Pre-registration is recommended.
