Activities will include Monarch Education, Live Bluegrass Bands, featuring the Muleskinner Band and Mad River Railroad, Butterfly Walk, Prairie Walk, arts and crafts, food trucks, children’s crafts including a collaborative art project sponsored by the Springfield Museum of Art. Youth can enter the Monarch Butterfly Poetry Contest by writing an original poem about Monarchs and submitting to National Trail by July 29.
Poetry contest is open to youth ages 8-15. Winners will be selected in three age groups. Sponsored by Veterinary Services of Springfield.

The Project Scare-A-Crow competition is now open to submissions from local businesses, non-profits and government agencies. For rules and guidelines contact National Trail at 328-7275. Hear President Roosevelt, portrayed by Larry Marple, bring history to life by looking back to the beginning of the 20th century.
