A new dog park opened in Old Reid Park on June 18, 2005.  A volunteer Dog Park Committee planned the park and is raising the necessary funds to develop it.  Current funding is sufficient to complete the general construction but an additional $6,500 is needed to add the additional amenities, additional benches and water lines, necessary to make it an even more special area.  For making financial contributions to the Dog Park click on the Donation form link.

Park Rules

Construction of the new dog park in Old Reid Park got underway the week of April 25, 2005. The canine area has a new name "Wiggley Field", which was selected by the Dog Park Committee and approved by the NTPRD Board. The name was selected through a naming contest conducted by the committee and the Springfield News-Sun. The winner of the contest was Jean Chepp.
