Trail Tots Activity Camp       
For Youths ages 3 - 5
Directed by the NTPRD Staff this camp will be conducted at 2 locations this summer. Formerly known as Camp Tumble Tot , this one week camp is for young people ages 3 - 5. Activities will include games, going on walks, stories, playtime and crafts. Children must be toilet trained to enroll in camp and need to bring a lunch each day. All campers receive a T-shirt. 

Registration fee is $55.00

Camp Kidstuff        
For Youths ages 6 - 12
Camp Kidstuff is directed by the NTPRD Staff and camp will be organized in three sessions at three locations (see schedule below) from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.  This one week long camp for young people ages 6-12 has a wide variety of activities scheduled to provide campers with hours of excitement and learning. Events include arts and crafts, cookout, nature hikes, swimming, games and many other activities. It is just like the old days when sunshine, outdoors and FUN were synonymous. Participants need to dress accordingly and bring lunch and beverages. 

Registration fee is $55.00

 

Session I June 16 - 20 Snyder Park Shelter House (next to tennis courts) in Springfield
Session II July 14 - 18 Smith Park in New Carlisle
Session III July 28 – August 1 South Charleston Park

Nature Camp       July 7 - 10           9:00am until Noon
For Youths ages 8 - 12
A variety of activities have been planned to provide campers with an increased awareness of the natural world around us. Topics such as habitats, insects, and pollution will be covered through the use of games, crafts, and hiking. Campers need not be an expert to attend as activities will be suitable for beginners. The camp will be held at  George Rogers Clark Park from 9:00am to noon.  For young people ages 8 – 12. The instructor is Penny Dunbar and campers should wear appropriate clothing and bring water.  Campers receive a T-shirt.  

Registration fee is $55.00

 

 

Passport to Fishing       July 11  9:00am until Noon    FREE     

For Youths ages 8 - 16                                                                                     Pre-registration is required

Passport to Fishing is a beginners fishing program for children and families, to be held at Hosterman Lake in George Rogers Clark Park, who have little or no previous fishing experience. Participants will have fun while learning some basic skills. There will be four education stations to teach fishing education. After these sessions, the children and their families will be able to fish on their own and all children will receive a free rod and reel. The children must pre-register by June 13 and be accompanied by a parent or guardian. This program is for youth ages 4 - 16 years old. No T-shirt will be given for this program.

2008 Summer Playgrounds     June 9 -  27   Mon. - Fri.  10:00am - 4:00pm     FREE     

For Youths ages 7 - 14                                           Pre-registration is Required   

The 2008 Playground Program will begin on June 9 and run through June 27, Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. weather permitting. The program is open free of charge, to Springfield and/or Clark County Youth ages 7 through 14 and is made possible through a grant from the City of Springfield Community Development Block Grant Program.

Activities will include arts and crafts, weekly field trips, educational programs, sports, table games and much more.

A complete schedule of activities will be available at each site and can be acquired when children register. * All field trips will require a permission slip for each event and some require fees. These are available and will be collected at the playground site. Most deadlines are 2 to 3 days prior to the event.


Summer Playgrounds Registration:

To participate in the Summer Playground Program participants must pre-register. Space is limited to 40 children per site. This requires the completion of a registration form by a parent or guardian. Pre-registration will take place at each playground site on Friday, June 6 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. Registration will be on a first come, first served basis.

Santa's Drop & Shop   

Held at the NTPRD Administration Building at 1301 Mitchell Boulevard.  Parents can drop the kids off to enjoy an evening of fun which includes dinner, games, making gifts for parents and a holiday movie.  This will give parents a chance to do some holiday shopping, wrapping, decorating, or just have a quiet moment during the hectic Holiday Season. 

 

The fee is $10.00 per child.  Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
